Lake Forest Historic Property

Originally constructed in 1869 as the barn for a neighboring estate, this is one of Lake Forest's oldest surviving structures. In 1915, renowned architect David Adler transformed it into a distinguished single-family residence. Honoring Adler's vision and the home's French Empire heritage, the landscape was designed around a formal central axis with symmetrical gardens and paths, antique fountain, sculpted boxwoods, and naturalistic flowering plantings all to balance structure with softness.
